Causes

Secondary Osteoporosis Osteoporosis caused as a consequence of other diseases or harmful side-effect of some medication is termed as Secondary osteoporosis. Causes:
  1. Anti-inflammatory drugs – for treatment of asthma, rheumatism
  2. High dose of thyroid hormone
  3. Anti-coagulant derivatives
  4. Chronic digestive organ disorder – disease effected pancreas, intestine, liver, kidney
  5. Inflammatory disease like rheumatoid arthritis
  6. Hormone disorder – overactive thyroid gland, diabetes, tumours
