Few tips, if incorporated in one’s routine from an early age, could result in preventing
the onset of osteoporosis.
- Appropriate diet with adequate calcium intake.
- Plenty of exercise & outdoor sports.
High-impact sports & games are particularly suitable in enhancing bone strength
and density. Example of such “high-impact” sports are step aerobics, jogging, tennis,
badminton, squash, volleyball, basketball, football, hockey etc.
Caution: Osteoporosis patients or elderly people with low bone density should stay
away from such “high impact” sports.
