What is Cerederm®?

Invisible and easy to use, Cerederm® is a self-adhesive silicone dressing for the treatment of scars.
The silicone gel relieves itching, softens the scar and reduces its redness. The medical grade silicone smoothes out the scar and limits its development.
All the components of the Cerederm® dressing have been selected for their biocompatibility. Special attention has been paid to the perfecting of medical grade silicone.

Which kind of scars can it be used on?

Scars often appear after a burn, a surgical operation, an accident, a skin reaction …
Cerederm® is really effective on hypertrophic scars (red coloured) or keloid (raised and fibrous, firm and thick) either old or recent.
Cerederm® is highly recommended in the preventive treatment of closed wounds and scars caused by surgical operations.
Contraindications: Cerederm® must not be used on open or infected wounds, bedsores, weeping or ulcerated wounds, burns and mucous membranes.

How to use it?

For optimum effectiveness, Cerederm® must cover the scar by more than a centimeter. The dressing must be worn daily over a treatment period of 2 to 6 months.
The dressing’s intrinsic qualities, coupled with an exclusive technology, guarantee a perfect adherence to the skin and allow the pain free removal of the dressing.

Results

Cerederm® dressings are highly recommended in the preventive and curative treatment of closed wounds and hypertrophic or keloid scars caused by surgical operations.
Results are visible after 2 to 3 months of use. More flexible, smoother and redless, the scar is visibly attenuated.

Instructions

1. Remove the dressing from its wrapping. It is possible to cut the dressing to the required size in order to cover up the scar while providing enough overlapping (at least a centimeter)
2. Position the Cerederm® with the adhesive side on the scar and take off gently and progressively the protective film, while fitting properly the dressing on the skin.
3. Use the Cerederm® dressing alone, there’s no need to add cream. However, it is possible to provide an additional support by wearing an elastic bandage or a compressive garment.
4. Clean the dressing once a day, using clear water and neutral soap. Clean its surface half by half, in order to put it back in place easily.

Recommendations

• It is recommended to inspect and clean the scar at least once a day with clear water and neutral soap. The dressing can be cleaned the same way (clean it half by half in order to put it back in place easily).
• The dressing must be worn daily during 2 to 3 days (ideally 24 hours a day). It must not be worn more than 5 days or must be replaced once its adhesive properties are deteriorating.
• The dressing is strictly individual (monopatient) and must not be used by another person.
• In case of skin reaction, stop the treatment and consult a doctor.

Caution: The dressing does not protect from UV-rays.
